Abstract

This paper presents and analyzes the concentration levels of CO (carbon monoxide), NO2 (nitrogen dioxide) and TSP (total suspended particles), in ambient air, which are determined by measurement, with automated measuring station "Airpointer" and by calculating software package „DISPER 5.2“. Measurements were performed during the heating season at the measuring point which is located in the building of the Faculty of Occupational Safety in Niš. The study was aimed to determine the contribution of pollutants emitted from energy sources - district heating plant "South" to the overall pollution of ambient air in the region of the Faculty of Occupational Safety, by direct measurement and modeling, and perform a comparative analysis of the results.

Key words: monitoring of ambient air, concentration of pollutants, air quality, measurement, simulation.
