VALUE STREAM PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT AND THE LEAN BUSINESS CONCEPT
Abstract
Lean business concept is characterized by providing value required by customers, prompt delivery of products, eliminating all forms of waste from production process as well as from all business processes in the company, etc. In order to achieve and maintain competitive advantage, it is appropriate to carefully consider and apply the basic principles of lean business concept and establish a value stream. Value stream is a basis for creating value for the customers, on the one hand, and for the enterprise, on the other hand. In that context, it is necessary to choose a set of performance measures for assessment of the value stream success, which is named Box Score.
