THE TRADITION OF LITERARY TRANSLATION AT THE ENGLISH DEPARTMENT
Abstract
This paper provides a comprehensive list of all the literary texts translated by the members of the English Department at the Faculty of Philosophy, and then proceeds to discuss some of these translations in detail. Some of the circumstances related to the translators’ choice of literary works, their stylistic features and the methods used in translating are presented. It is demonstrated that a significant tradition of literary translation has been established at the department, which has resulted in publishing some seminal works of Anglophone literature in the Serbian language.
